iTWire - ACCC clears Optus to scrap HFC network and use NBN instead

iTWire - ACCC clears Optus to scrap HFC network and use NBN instead: "The ACCC has cleared, provisionally, the proposed deal between Optus and NBN Co under which Optus is to be paid around $800m to shut down its HFC network and transfer customers onto the NBN.
The agreement was announced on June 2011, at the same time as the definitive agreements between Telstra and NBN Co and between Telstra and the Government.
It provided for Optus progressively migrate its HFC customers to the NBN once the network had been rolled out in an area and was ready to provide services to customers served by Optus' HFC network."
